Parents and citizens association

Our Goal

The P&C's goal is the best possible education for our children, defined as follows:

  • To promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation.
  • To assist in providing facilities and equipment for the school and in promoting the recreation and welfare of the students at the school.

How do we achieve this?

  • Meetings are scheduled twice per term to discuss and decide upon P&C activities.
  • Creating an annual School wish list in liaison with the school to support teachers and students.
  • Social functions are the responsibility of the P&C, and can be by class, year or whole school. Events could include welcome BBQs, parents' nights etc. If you would like to help plan or organise Social events, please join the P&C Social Subcommittee.
  • Identifying and implementing projects for the P&C.
  • Consulting with the principal of the school on issues raised to the P&C.
  • Locating parents to assist the school executive with hiring of teaching staff.
  • The P&C elect 4 parent representatives to the School Council each year.

How do we get Funding?

Our main source of funding are voluntary donations to the P&C made with your School contributions. Our funds are used to provide things such as facilities, equipment, resources and technology to enhance learning.

We also have a tax-deductible Building Fund to fund permanent fixtures, fittings or building works that go above and beyond the priority items funded by the Dept of Education.

Your support will help improve our school: Donate to the P&C Building Fund

The funding priorities are made in liaison with the School Executive and final funding is decided upon by the P&C membership at meetings.

In recent years P&C funds have been used to upgrade the sound and lighting in the Gymnasium and Hall, new smart boards, the renovation of the stage in the hall, restoration of the oval, production of the musical, teaching resources and funding extracurricular programs such as debating, homework centre and chess.

We need your support and input

Whether you want to just be informed or you want to be actively involved, we welcome you!

It's a great way to learn about what is happening at the school and a great way to meet the dedicated and talented staff that are dedicated to our school. The Principal attends each meeting and there are occasionally guest speakers informing about relevant topics.

P&C Membership is annual, ending at the annual general meeting.

Email is a great way to have input to the P&C, especially if you can't attend a meeting. Items can be considered for the agenda when received at least 14 days prior to the meeting.

Receiving items prior by email also helps us try to keep meetings to around 1 hour.
