Following the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, a number of Aboriginal Leaders played an important role in the early relationships between the colonists and the Eora people. Rose Bay Secondary College’s new house system is named after these significant Aboriginal Australians, assisting our students to develop an understanding of their contributions to Australia's rich history.
To assist with the launch of the new houses, several whole school initiatives were implemented to promote and maintain the connection each student has with their house groups.
In Week 2, all student were formally welcomed to their house through a House Assembly. These assemblies included guest speakers, activities, and aimed at developing each students’ connection to their house group. Students were also made aware of the new ways their achievements at Rose Bay Secondary College would be recognised through the house point system.
To coincide with the Swimming Carnival, bright colourful banners with each house name were purchased by the school. These looked fantastic and contributed wonderfully to the sense of school spirit at the carnival.
