Upon arrival we received a lecture from four ArtExpress nominees, each of these talks provided a range of valuable insights and advice on producing our upcoming body of works as well as the tools needed to produce an original concept. This was followed by a tour of both the Japanese Supernatural and ArtExpress exhibits. ArtExpress showcased a culmination of senior works produced by last year's Visual Art students across Sydney. These artworks ranged from portraits in oil paint to woollen textural animals, each artwork exhibited a significant amount of detail and experimentation. However, the most thrilling part of this excursion was the dynamic Japanese Supernatural exhibition. The work included a large variety of traditional Japanese art forms which dated back to the 18th century as well as more contemporary works. A first Visual Art excursion for many students, the trip to the gallery was both fun and inspiring.
